Carlos  Soblette.

Carlos Soublette (La Guaira, 15 December 1789 - Caracas,11th  February 1870) was a Venezuelan military and political.

Full name Carlos Valentin Antonio José de la Soledad del Sacramento Soublette and Jerez de Aristigueta, born in La Guaira on December 15th  1789, son of Antonio Soublette native of Tenerife, and Teresa Jerez de Aristigueta. From early enters military training, joins Francisco de Miranda in the independence struggle.

Later binds to Simon Bolivar in the issuance of keys, also participates in a number of campaigns against the Spanish army, so you get the position of Director of the War in the Central Provinces.

Exercise vice department Venezuela, and is active in the separation of Gran Colombia, and the formation of the Republic of Venezuela.
Carlos Soublette assumes the presidency twice, as one of the favorite candidates of José Antonio Páez. The February 11th 1870, died in Caracas at 80 years of age.

presidential terms (1837-1839 and 1843-1847)   
This character was a hero of independence. The May 18, 1810 entered the military service as a standard-bearer of the cavalry squadron of Caracas. July 24 is alferez. The January 11, 1811, Lieutenant, July 31, captain of cavalry, first assistant in campaign under the orders of miranda in Aragua and Carabobo, 1812, lieutenant colonel in 1821, director of war, army instructor; 17 July 1858, chief of operations in caracas, 1859, from April 4 director of the war in the West, and is removed when the warrior emfermo.

Carlos Soublette was political leader: 1820 Vice President Venezuela, in 1821 Venezuela quartermaster department, 1825-1827, Secretary of the Army and Navy of the Republic of Colombia. He was elected vice president of the republic on 11 March 1837, being in Europe but returned a few days later. Is responsible for the presidency on 10 April 1837 until January 28th 1839, who in turn corresponded vice president and hands over power to his successor on February 1st 1839. 

the 26 January 1843 the Congress examined the records of the polling stations in the vote for president of the republic, and Carlos Soublette won the most votes in the chair 28th of that month until 20 January 1847 when delivery president Batista Diego Urbanski 

Recent policy actions 

In 1848 his estate Soublette retires in Chaguaramas. But when José Tadeo Monagas attacks Congress on 24 January 1848, Soublette binds to José Antonio Páez against the government of Monagas, being defeated at the Battle of the Araguatos, emigrating to New Granada and settling in Santa Marta.
In 1858 returns to Venezuela accepting the invitation of the Chairman Julian Castro. In 1860 he was a Senator for the Province of Caracas and State Secretary in the government of Pedro Gual. After the triumph of the Federation, withdrew from public life only to return shortly before his death, during the rule of the Blue Revolution lead by José Ruperto Monagas between 1869 and 1870.

Death and posthumous tribute
 

Carlos Soublette passes away in Caracas on the 11 February 1870. His remains were moved to the National Pantheon on February 7th 1970.
